Location

Park Hyatt Doha is located in the heart of the city, only about a 15-minute drive from Hamad International Airport. Its location makes it ideal for stopovers, city breaks or short business trips, as the authentic cultural hub of Souq Waqif is in the immediate neighborhood. Despite its central location, the hotel’s modern architecture and tranquil grounds provide an oasis of calm, secluded from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Getting there

Getting to Park Hyatt Doha is straightforward. In this case, we travelled by taxi. While getting to the pick-up we realized that even if you only step outside the air-conditioned airport building for just a moment, you will immediately notice how hot it is in Doha – in August, temperatures can quickly reach 44 degrees Celsius and above. If you organise your own transfer, you will find that the taxi routes are clearly signposted, allowing you to arrive at the hotel stress-free. Simply follow the ‘Uber‘ signs to reach the designated taxi area.

Alternatively, you can take the red metro line to Park Hyatt Doha and get off at the ‘Msheireb’ station, the fifth stop after the airport. The journey takes about 15 minutes, and it’s only a short 300-metre walk from the station.

Check-in

Check-in at Park Hyatt Doha was efficient and pleasant. Although your luggage is taken directly at the entrance and sent through a small security check, you can proceed to the lobby without waiting, making check-in hassle-free. Thanks to my Explorist status and a Privé rate, I was given a Deluxe Corner Room, which I had already paid for in advance, so no deposit was necessary and everything was handled smoothly and professionally.

Unfortunately, there was no complimentary welcome drink or other gesture typically offered by Park Hyatt hotels. While everything here was very professional, this hotel reminded me more of a Business Hotel than an exclusive Park Hyatt property.

Park Hyatt Doha at a glance

Park Hyatt Doha boasts a modern, elegant and functional design. The public areas, such as the Lobby, Living Room and Library, all located on one floor, convey a feeling of spaciousness. This floor also houses the Opus restaurant, which serves breakfast and lunch but, surprisingly, not dinner, despite this being stated on the website in August 2025. The hotel offers 187 rooms, including 28 Park Suites, three Park Executive Suites, a Diplomat Suite and one Presidential Suite.

Room

As usually, I booked the cheapest room at Park Hyatt Doha. Thanks to the Hyatt Privé rate, I received an upgrade to a Deluxe Corner Room on the 18th floor. Room No. 1811 would be mine for the next two nights. Let’s take a look at it together!

The entrance area opens directly onto a long hallway. Here, you will find two cupboards containing classic items such as an iron and ironing board, a safe, a bag and a laundry bag, as well as slippers.

Welcome

Upon entering the room, I was greeted by a small but lovingly arranged welcome gift, including a handwritten card. In this case, it consisted of assorted chocolates, dates and fresh fruit – being included in the Hyatt Privé rate that I had booked.

Living room and bedroom

In the living room and bedroom, the television was opposite the bed. There was also a small seating/working area in the corner, as well as another long sideboard containing a minibar and everything needed to prepare coffee and tea, including cutlery and tableware.

As usual at Park Hyatt, the king-size bed was very comfortable, with four identical pillows. However, these were slightly too soft for my liking and could definitely be firmer. Nevertheless, we would like to take this opportunity again to praise the hotel, because, unlike most other hotels, it doesn’t just tuck the duvet under the mattress. Meaning that you don’t have to perform an acrobatics before going to bed in order to just sleep comfortably! Really good!

Bathroom

This generously proportioned bathroom features two washbasins, a spacious walk-in rain shower and a bathtub. The Le Labo toiletries, specifically the provided Santal scent, fit in perfectly with the desert city of Doha. A bidet and ample storage space complete the comfortable bathroom experience.

View

The hotel offers an impressive view of Doha from the room. The sunset is particularly spectacular at dusk and the room’s corner location enhances the beautiful panorama.

Turndown

Park Hyatt Doha, of course, also offers a turndown service which involves preparing the bed for the night, fluffing up the duvet, and leaving slippers by the bed. You will also find a fresh bottle of water on your bedside table.

Hotel activities

Pool

The pool area is rather on the small side but also big enough for a few lengths to swim or simply to cool off. The water is pleasantly warm, even when the outside temperature exceeds 40 degrees. But unfortunately there is only a limited number of sun loungers available. However, you can usually find a spot. There are no parasols, but this isn’t an issue as there’s no direct sunlight on this side of the hotel after midday.

Unfortunately, it’s rather difficult to completely relax here as the noise from the street is quite loud. If you’re unlucky and all the sun loungers are taken, there is no alternative indoor area – at least for men. Only women have access to an indoor area featuring a whirlpool.

Fitness Center

The gym is modern, well-equipped and clearly laid out. There are plenty of cardio and weight training machines. If you want to cool down after your workout, there is also a small outdoor seating area, although it may not feel very cooling there in mid August.

Spa

Spread over two levels, Park Hyatt Doha Spa has separate areas for men and women. It offers a wide range of treatments and soothing massages, as well as wellness programmes. Women also have the option of using a separate whirlpool. Unfortunately, this is not an option for men.

Restaurants

Living Room

The Living Room serves as an overflow space for the Opus restaurant next door during Breakfast hours and you can also enjoy a coffee or cold drink here throughout the rest of the day.

OPUS

In addition to breakfast, the Opus Restaurant serves Mediterranean specialities for lunch.

SORA

The SORA rooftop bar is a real highlight above Doha’s rooftops. Here, you can enjoy expertly crafted drinks and delicious dishes such as sushi and tempura. So, if you’re looking for THE perfect place to enjoy a sundowner in Doha, look no further than the Park Hyatt Doha.

Breakfast

The substantial breakfast buffet is served at the Opus Restaurant at Park Hyatt Doha, although it is not as extensive as those at other international Park Hyatt hotels. You can order Eggs Benedict and other delicacies such as French toast from the menu, while everything else is available from the buffet. Fresh juices, coffee and tea are, of course, included, and egg dishes are freshly prepared for you and served at the table.

Check-out

Check-out was efficient and straightforward. Since I had pre-paid and no deposit was required, the process took less than a minute. I received the folio by email upon request, and after this short stay, I was already on my way back to the airport.

Costs

I paid QAR 1,156 for these two nights in August 2025, which was roughly equivalent to € 270 at the time. By global standards, this is an extremely attractive price for a Park Hyatt hotel, especially when factoring in Privé benefits such as hotel credit, upgrades and points. This price certainly makes the Park Hyatt Doha the most affordable Park Hyatt hotel in the world.

Departure and onward journey

After checking out, we took an Uber back to Hamad International Airport. The journey took only around 15 minutes, arriving at around 7 a.m. From there, our trip continued on a Qatar Airways A350-900 Business Class flight to Vienna, where we spent the night at the Andaz Vienna.

Conclusion

Park Hyatt Doha won me over with its modern design, excellent service, and peaceful yet central location right next to the souq. It’s an ideal place to stop over, for example if you’ve arrived with Qatar Airways and aren’t continuing your journey until the next day. It’s also perfect if you just want to explore the city for a short time. Business travellers, solo travellers and couples will definitely feel at home here. Families can also stay here, but there is no kids’ club or much else on offer for younger guests.

We have a few minor criticisms regarding the breakfast selection and pool size, but overall, it’s a solid, luxurious Hyatt hotel. So, we say: go there!

For us at EVRYWHRE, the Park Hyatt Doha is definitely a Premium hotel.

Evrywhre Kategorien

Rating

We are pleased to award Park Hyatt Doha an impressive 9 out of 10 possible points.

The hotel is excellent and offers exceptional value for money – especially for a luxury establishment of this calibre. We only deduct one point for the rather underwhelming breakfast offering.
