Location
St. Regis Bangkok is located on Ratchadamri Boulevard, one of the chicest streets in the city, overlooking the Royal Bangkok Sports Club. This location makes the hotel feel wonderfully open and atypically airy for Bangkok’s city center. You can reach both the shopping district around Siam and Lumphini Park – perfect for an early jog – on foot in just a few minutes. The Ratchadamri BTS station is directly connected, so you can be in any part of the city within just a few minutes. A hotspot for anyone who likes to combine luxury with a relaxed city flair.
Arrival
The easiest way to get from Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) to St. Regis Bangkok is by taxi or grab; depending on the time of day, you should allow around 40 – 60 minutes for the journey. From Don Mueang Airport (DMK) the journey is usually a little quicker and takes around 35 – 50 minutes. If you prefer to travel by public transport, take the Airport Rail Link (ARL) from BKK to Phaya Thai and change there to the BTS Skytrain. Get off at Ratchadamri station – the St. Regis Bangkok is directly connected to the train station.
Arriving in Bangkok by train or long-distance bus is also easy. From Hua Lamphong, take the MRT Blue Line to Silom and then change to the BTS, which will take you directly to Ratchadamri. From the Eastern Bus Terminal (Ekkamai) or the Northern Bus Terminal (Mo Chit), the quickest way is also via the BTS Skytrain: once to Siam station, a quick change and you’re almost at the hotel.
We were coming from our stay at the Waldorf Astoria Bangkok, which is located only a few hundred meters down the road, so we simply walked the short distance.

BTS SkyTrain Station Rachadamri is located directly in front of the hotel and is built on stilts above the road. You can reach the station from the second floor of the hotel via a bridge. St. Regis Bangkok is therefore perfectly connected to the public transport network.

Check-in
As we arrived at the hotel entrance, we were greeted very friendly and our suitcases were stored immediately. Right afterwards, we were escorted through the Lobby to the elevators and sent to the 12th floor, where the reception is located. No other guests were being checked in at the time so it was our turn straight away.
Personally, I always find it great when I get the opportunity to sit down for check-in and here at St. Regis Bangkok we were fortunately able to do just that and sit down on two armchairs. As soon as we were seated, we were served a welcome drink. However, there was no cold towel.
The process was very friendly and efficient. We were given some information about the hotel, as well as an information letter about the current opening times of the restaurants and one that listed the benefits of being a Marriott Bonvoy Elite member. After just a few moments, we had been given our room cards and were escorted upstairs to the room by one of the friendly staff members.

St. Regis Bangkok at a glance
St. Regis Bangkok opened in 2011, bringing the classic American luxury brand to the 24-story skyscraper on Rachadamri Road right in the heart of the Thai metropolis.
The Lobby and the open lounge area The Lounge are located on the first floor, directly at the main entrance. Zuma restaurant and the Michelin-starred IGNIV restaurant are also located here.
The most important culinary outlets though are located on the 12th floor: VIU Restaurant, The St. Regis Bar , and The Drawing Room. This level combines dining options with a panoramic view of the city, the reception area and also serves as a transfer hub for the elevators. If you want to go from your room to the hotel exit, you will always have to change here.
The wellness and pool area is located on the 15th floor. This is where the outdoor pool with adjoining pool bar, spa and fitness center are located.
The 227 rooms and suites are located on floors 13 to 22 of the building. These upper floors house the various room types, ranging from classic rooms to larger Suites with views of the Royal Bangkok Sports Club and the Bangkok skyline.

Astor room
As is almost always the case, we had booked the smallest room category at St. Regis Bangkok – in this case a Deluxe room. However, due to our Marriott Bonvoy Titanium status, we were kindly upgraded by two categories to an Astor room. A further upgrade up to the Metropolitan Suite would have been possible in general, but the category was not available at the time of our stay due to a large wedding party.

Welcome
A very personal welcome awaited us upon check-in to our room. To our great surprise, we found a king-size bed decorated with roses and a cake with the inscription “Happy Belated Birthday” in the room.
The most curious thing about it, however, is that the birthday had not been announced in advance – this attention was all the more positive, especially in direct comparison to our stay at the Waldorf Astoria the day before. Unfortunately, the birthday surprise didn’t work out at all there, despite an intensive exchange of emails in advance. So: two thumbs up for St. Regis Bangkok. The staff did a really great job! That’s the way to create real memories!

Entrance
Just to the right of the entrance door is a small table where you can place small items, as well as a mirror and here you will also find an umbrella. Further down the flight, there are two built-in cupboards and a luggage rack on the right.
Inside the cupboards you will find one of the two bathrobes, the slippers, the safe, a suitcase rack, as well as everything you need for shoe care and if you want to have your clothes dry cleaned. However, the luggage rack between the cupboards is a little small and rather suitable for a carry-on size suitcase.

Living room and bedroom
Straight ahead you will find yourself at the combined living room and bedroom. The bed is on the left. Opposite is the TV set on a sideboard. A little further into the room is a desk, which has everything you need to work properly, as well as a sofa. Unfortunately, everything in this room is geared towards looking into the room rather than concentrating on the fantastic view.

The room is of course dominated by the really comfortable king-size bed, which impresses with its high level of sleeping comfort. The mattress was perfectly adjusted, the pillows well chosen – interestingly, there are a total of 3 – ll of the same quality.
The bedside table on the left only holds the remote control. On the right, you will find the clock radio as well as the telephone and a notepad with pen. There is an individually controllable bedside lamp on both sides, as well as sockets, charging options and, of course, a number of light switches.

The minibar is located in the sideboard below the TV. The coffee machine with capsules, cups and water is located on top of the worktop. The drawers contain glasses, red wine and snacks and the fridge holds soft drinks, water, beer, wine and champagne. Coffee, tea and still water are available free of charge. The rest is subject to a charge.

Bathroom
The compact but not particularly small bathroom can be accessed from the hallway and the sleeping area. It features a vanity with two sinks, on which a range of care products can be found. The remaining amenities and a hairdryer are placed inside the built-in drawer.
Opposite is a free-standing bathtub and next to it a fully glazed cubicle for the walk-in rain shower. Naturally, there are also care products here – all from the brand Clinique La Prairie.
The toilet is located at the back in a separate small room.

Turndown
St. Regis Bangkok also offers its guests a turndown service preparing the room for the night in the late afternoon. Bedside rugs with slippers on them are placed on both sides of the bed and a box is placed on the bench at the foot of the bed, containing everything you need if you want to hand in your clothes for dry cleaning.

View
The view from the room directly overlooked the pool and the Royal Bangkok Sports Club golf course was an absolute highlight for both of us. To have such a wide view in a city as densely built up as Bangkok is really a great feature. Once again, St. Regis Bangkok delivered what the Waldorf Astoria promised, but unfortunately did not deliver.
We, for one, were very pleased with this view.

Resort activities
Pool
The outdoor pool of St. Regis Bangkok is located on the 16th floor and also offers a fantastic view of the golf course opposite. Beautifully surrounded by greenery, the area offers a not so small number of loungers. Some of them are even placed under an overgrown arcade.
There is also an area at the end of the pool that offers sunbathing areas inside the water that can be transformed into a whirlpool at the touch of a button. Unfortunately, the pool is not heated and was really too cool for us to swim in mid November. Accordingly, the pool remained empty during our stay – a heated pool though would have been perfect at this time of year.

Fitness Center
The building’s gym is also located on the 16th floor and is relatively well equipped. In fact, it even has a boxing ring. A little outdated in design, it is functional, quiet and easy to use with a few cardio and muscle-building machines and a small free weights area.

Spa
The spa is also located on the 15th floor. The Longevity Hub offers a whole range of treatments of all kinds. However, it is also where hotel guests can enjoy the use of a sauna, steam bath, hot tub and cold bath free of charge. You are invited to relax in this small area featuring hanging cocoons and on two loungers. During the day soaking in a view of the golf course. At night it’s cozy with the curtains drawn.

Birthday
As mentioned earlier in the text, we were very pleasantly surprised that the hotel was super attentive to the previous birthday without prior notice. In addition to the delicious little cake, the bed was also decorated and there was even a handwritten card. Really really great!

Champagne ritual
All St. Regis hotels worldwide offer a champagne ritual in which all guests are invited to attend the sabering of a champagne bottle every afternoon. In November 2025, however, the whole of Thailand was still in mourning for the recently deceased Queen Mother during this period and so this tradition was adjusted. Instead, each guest was nevertheless served a glass of champagne – a respectful and very understandable decision.
This event took place at St. Regis Bangkok in their Lobby bar. A few small snacks were also offered and a second Cocktail was also included. Unfortunately, we cannot say whether the event was moved here due to the special occasion or whether it always takes place here.

Restaurants
Drawing Room
Centrally located opposite the elevators arriving from the first floor, this Bar also offers a cozy atmosphere during the day and is therefore the place chosen by the hotel to serve the famous afternoon tea.

Igniv
The Michelin-starred Swiss restaurant is located directly on the first floor.

St. Regis Bar
This very stylish Bar is located right behind the Drawing Room and serves Cocktails as well as a fantastic view of the golf course opposite. With its own outdoor area, this is a great place to start or end the evening.

The Lounge
Located in the entrance area of the hotel, this Lobby Bar is the perfect place to meet up with external guests or to enjoy a drink before setting off into the city.

Zuma
The hotel’s Japanese restaurant is also located on the first floor and is directly accessible from the entrance hall, but can also be entered from outside the hotel. This restaurant also offers a great outdoor area and even a DJ at the late hour on weekend evenings.

Pool Bar
Of course, St. Regis Bangkok also offers a small Pool Bar for drinks and snacks during your stay in the outdoor area. You can even order from your lounger using a QR code.

Breakfast
Breakfast is served at Viu restaurant in St. Regis Bangkok. Every day starting from 6:30 am to 11:00 am, you can enjoy a really extensive buffet as well as an à la carte selection of dishes. The relatively large area was a little too crowded and noisy for me personally, but admittedly we were able to sit down directly on arrival at the restaurant and even choose a table suitable for us.
The buffet is really large and offers several live cooking stations. To order there, you simply take one of the cards that are available at each individual table, hand it over and are then served at your table. To be honest, I thought it to be a bit stupid at first, but the system is actually brilliant. You get freshly prepared food. You can choose everything on the spot and don’t have to stand around waiting for it to be ready.
We really tried a lot of things, Fabi of course also ordered the obligatory Egg Benedict and everything was really delicious.
Of course, you can also order hot drinks at the table and have them served directly to your seat. The service was friendly and very nice, although a little short-tempered and hectic due to the workload – but completely understandable.

Check-out
The check-out went absolutely smooth and without any peculiarities. Everything was well prepared, we were asked if the stay was OK and were then bid a friendly farewell.
Costs
For this one night at St. Regis Bangkok we decided to pay with points and were charged 58,000 Marriott Bonvoy points in November 2025. Breakfast and the upgrade were included due to our status.
Departure and onward journey
For us a long trip to Asia came to an end after this night and we made our way from here to Suvarnabhumi Airport, from where we traveled back to our home airport in Frankfurt.
Conclusion
St. Regis Bangkok gave us a wonderful stay in every way. Everything worked perfectly in all departments. The service was great. The room was upgraded – not to a Suite, but of course that’s totally okay and we got a really great room. The pool is nice, if a little cold, and the spa is also relaxing. We had a great night’s sleep and a delicious breakfast – even if a little more peace and quiet would have helped us start the day. Even the birthday surprise worked out really well. The only thing the hotel could really do with is a refurbishment.
We can recommend St. Regis Bangkok for couples, solo and business travelers. The hotel offers only little added value for families with children though.
On our EVRWHRE internal scale, we therefore place the hotel in the solid Premium range.

Rating
We award St. Regis Bangkok a well-deserved 9 out of 10 possible points for this stay.
The hotel really earned an absolute bonus point with the great birthday surprise. But we deduct one point each for the cold pool and the general condition, which really needs to be overhauled.
Go there?
Absolutely. Especially in combination with a Preferred Partner Rate, the hotel is really great.
