Location

Park Hyatt Bangkok is located directly above the Central Embassy Mall in the heart of chic Phloen Chit district, one of the most elegant areas in the city. Here, life pulsates between futuristic skyscrapers and luxurious shopping temples next to small streets where Bangkok still feels completely authentic. The Phloen Chit BTS Skytrain station is connected directly to the hotel, so you can be immersed in the hustle and bustle of Siam Square or enjoy the peace and quiet of Lumphini Park within just a few minutes. Even the river, with its markets, temples and rooftop bars, is only a short ride away – it doesn’t get much more central or exclusive than this in Bangkok.

Getting there

The easiest way to reach Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit from Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) is to take the Airport Rail Link to Phaya Thai station and then transfer directly to the BTS Skytrain, which will take you to Nana station in just a few minutes – practically right outside the hotel door. If you prefer a more comfortable option, take a taxi, grab, Bolt, Uber or private transfer. Depending on traffic, the journey takes around 40 to 60 minutes and takes you right into the vibrant heart of Sukhumvit.

When traveling by train or long-distance bus the journey to the hotel is also super easy: from Hua Lamphong Central Station, you can take the MRT to the Sukhumvit district in just a few stops and then transfer directly to the BTS Skytrain, which will take you to Nana Station. If you arrive by long-distance bus at the Eastern Bus Terminal at Ekkamai Station, it’s even easier – from there, it’s only a few stops on the BTS to the hotel. The Hyatt Regency Sukhumvit Bangkok can therefore be reached easily and flexibly from all directions.

We arrived from our previous hotel, Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit, and only had to travel one stop on the BTS. The cost was 17 THB for a one-minute ride. From the station, you can easily reach the Central Embassy Mall, located directly below the hotel, albeit via a few steps. Simply take two escalators down to the ground floor in order to enter the hotel directly from inside the mall.

Check-in

As we arrived at the entrance area coming from the mall, our suitcases were taken into storage almost right after we stepped through the entrance door in order to be brought up to our room later. We were then kindly directed towards the lift and informed that the lobby and check-in are located on the tenth floor.

Once we reached that floor, we found the setting of directions a little confusing, but were shown where to check in right away. As we arrived at the reception desk, we received an extremely warm welcome. Everything was prepared, and we were given information about the additional benefits of booking through the Preferred Partner Rate. Our room was ready and waiting for us even though we already arrived at around 1:30 p.m.!

After checking in, we were invited to The Bar for a welcome drink. However, we were very excited and couldn’t bear the thought of not being able to see the room right away, so we simply took our two glasses of sparkling wine upstairs and drank them in our room instead.

Park Hyatt Bangkok at a glance

Since its opening in 2017, Park Hyatt Bangkok has been one of the city’s most spectacular hotels – not only because of its design, but also because of its location above the Central Embassy Mall. As soon as you enter, you are greeted by the quiet, almost artistic, ground-floor lobby, which is deliberately set apart from the hustle and bustle outside. The 222 rooms and 32 suites are spread over the upper floors and offer magnificent views of Bangkok’s skyline. Interestingly, no two rooms in this hotel have the same floor plan within their respective categories. Due to the building’s unique shape, all rooms vary slightly in layout.

The culinary experience begins on the ninth floor with the Living Room, the Lobby Lounge and the Embassy Room, which has a terrace. One floor up, on the 10th floor, you will find the bar. Finally, at the very top of the building, the Penthouse Bar & Grill is spread over several levels and boasts a roof terrace and one of the most breathtaking panoramic views of Bangkok.

To relax, head to the ninth floor, where the pool area is like a green oasis floating high above the city. Two floors above that is the modern gym with an adjoining spa.

Room

We had again booked the smallest room category – a room with one king-size bed – but of course we had booked the Preferred Partner Rate through our own booking channel and were therefore upgraded to a Deluxe Room with one king-size bed.

We got a beautiful room on the 22nd floor, which we could call home for the night – room No. 2201. Let´s check it out.

Welcome

Upon arriving at our room, there was only an information letter laid down on the desk. However, after returning from a visit of the pool, we found a sweet little surprise waiting for us, along with another warm welcome greeting card from the Guest Relations Manager.

Entrance

After entering the room, you will find yourself in a small hallway. To the right, behind a sliding door, is the powder room, which contains a toilet and a sink.

Directly opposite is the walk-in wardrobe. Built-in wall cabinets on the left and right provide ample space for storing clothes and suitcases. You will also find one of the two bathrobes, slippers, a garment bag for delicate items of clothing and an umbrella here. The safe is also hidden in there, and everything you need to send clothes to the dry cleaner is provided as well.

Living room and bedroom

Continueing straight ahead, you will arrive at the forward, or official, part of the room. On the right here is the desk, which has a telephone, LAN and charging options. To the left is a highboard containing the minibar. The upper cabinet contains a coffee machine, spirits and glassware. The drawers below contain coffee capsules, tea, cutlery, snacks, crockery and a kettle. The small refrigerator next to it contains soft drinks, beer, wine and, of course, champagne. Everything besides the water, tea and coffee will be charged.

A few steps further on, the bedroom is cleverly divided from the rest of the room by two painted glass panels. On the right-hand side is the incredibly comfortable king-size bed, which offers two pillows of equal size but different firmness for each sleeper, as well as one large, cosy blanket. There is a lamp on each bedside table, as well as various light switches and charging options. On the left are the switches to control the curtains. On the left, there is also a telephone, a BOSE speaker, and a somewhat amusingly antiquated little clock.

Opposite the bed is a sideboard with the television on top. In front of the floor-to-ceiling window is a chaise longue, offering a wonderful place to relax and take in the view.

Bathroom

The bathroom is located directly next to the window on your left. Inside, you will find a large vanity unit with two sinks. There is of course also hand soap, water and glasses for your use.

Opposite these are the large freestanding bathtub and the fully glazed shower cubicle. All the other amenities, including the make-up mirror and hairdryer, can be found in a small cabinet located in front of the window.

Turndown

Naturally, the Park Hyatt Bangkok offers a turndown service. The bed is made up and water is provided for the night.

View

From the 22nd floor, you can enjoy beautiful views of parts of the city and the vacant lot next door.

Hotel activities

Pool

The fairly large infinity pool is located on the ninth floor and is connected to the restaurant. It offers fantastic views over parts of the city. The surrounding area is beautifully designed in a tropical style, with plenty of trees and greenery. A handful of double loungers are positioned right by the pool and, towards the end of the area, steps lead up to additional loungers and small gazebos. These provide a great view of the pool and the surrounding area.

In addition to towels, water and sunscreen are available at a station. Unlike at some other hotels, however, there were no towels on the sun loungers and none were laid out for us as we chose our day bed. Unfortunately, water is not served at your seat and no snacks are provided throughout the day. For a hotel in this price category and with this reputation, I found this to be a shame – the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit Bangkok and the Pimalai do a much better job in this regard!

Kid´s Pool

Although there isn’t a dedicated children’s pool, the large infinity pool has several very shallow areas which are perfect for splashing around with younger children.

Fitness Center

The Park Hyatt Bangkok gym is a medium-sized room that is rather well equipped, though not too well so. There are a few cardio machines and a corner dedicated to free weights. Water and towels are provided, but the highlight of the fitness centre is undoubtedly the city views, which you can enjoy while working out.

Spa

The Panpuri Spa at the Park Hyatt Bangkok offers a wide range of treatments, as well as a small gender-separated area equipped with a Jacuzzi and a steam room. However, there is no proper sauna. This area of the spa is primarily intended for changing, showering and brief relaxation before and after treatments. Unfortunately, it is obviously not really planned as an area to stay for long – aka an indoor area one can use when it’s raining outside. In stark contrast to the rest of the hotel, the small room itself looks rather sad and cramped.

Restaurants

Embassy Room La Marina

Park Hyatt Bangkok’s all-day dining restaurant is located below the lobby and features large windows overlooking the pool, offering fine Italian cuisine and wines. I enjoyed a glass of wine here that evening while Fabi was on a call in the room, and I really enjoyed my time in this relaxing and exclusive atmosphere. The only downside was the air conditioning, which was set very cold. Otherwise, this is a wonderful place to relax.

Penthouse Bar & Grill

One of THE hotel’s highlights is undoubtedly the rooftop bar and restaurant. Located on the 34th floor, the Penthouse Grill lives up to its name by offering a wide range of grilled meat specialities. We used the $100 credit included in our Preferred Partner Rate to enjoy an excellent meal here! The atmosphere is a blend of American diner and Italian fine dining restaurant, but above all it is very relaxed and intimate. As well as tables in the main room near the open kitchen, there is also an outdoor seating area and a few tables in private rooms offering great views of the city.

One floor up is the fantastic Penthouse Bar, which serves excellent cocktails and hosts live music every evening.

The Rooftop Bar itself is located on the roof terrace. Unfortunately, it was not set up or open during our stay due to the frequent rain.

Depth of Blue is a small Cocktail Bar located on the 35th floor. Here, you can enjoy exclusive Cocktails made with Johnnie Walker Blue Label Whisky.

Living Room

This all-day dining outlet has more of the character of an exclusive Café or Lobby. A long, wide, dramatic staircase leads down from the reception area to the Living Room. This extremely elegant, high-ceilinged room invites you to linger and offers great views through these huge floor-to-ceiling windows. As well as serving as an overflow area during breakfast, afternoon tea is also served here.

The Bar

The hotel’s other bar is located on the reception level. It has a beautiful terrace as well as smaller indoor seating areas. We enjoyed our welcome drink here straight after checking in.

Breakfast

Breakfast is served in the Embassy Room La Marina at the Park Hyatt Bangkok, with the Living Room also serving as an overflow area. This was fully utilised and sorely needed during our stay. We arrived for breakfast at around 9:30am and just hit the High Noon time. The room was packed! Fortunately, after some discussion, we managed to organise a table outside, which was at least a little quieter.

Food is served from a small buffet set in the open kitchen as well as in a separate, small room around the corner. However, most of the food is freshly prepared and can be ordered from an extensive menu. It is also possible to make minor changes to these dishes.

Unfortunately, I have to say that I wasn’t particularly impressed with the service here. The staff were all very nice and tried hard, but they were also rather disorganised, and the service as a whole was chaotic and a little messy. I felt rather tense most of the time. However, the food was delicious and beautifully presented!

Check-out

As expected, check-out was straightforward and problem-free. Everything had been well prepared, so we just had to pay the bill for the food and drink we had consumed – the $100 credit had already been deducted automatically. We were also asked if we needed any assistance with our departure, of course. The whole process was very professional.

Costs

In August 2025, we paid 10,828 THB for the lowest room category at Park Hyatt Bangkok for this one night. At the time of our stay, this equated to 286 euros. Our Preferred Partner Rate booking included an upgrade to the next room category, as well as breakfast and the 100 USD hotel credit.

Departure and onward journey

Our Thailand tour continues with a half-hour Grab ride to Chao Phraya river, where we will be staying at the newly opened Standard X. After that, we will head to the Sheraton Grand Sukhumvit, a Luxury Collection Hotel, and the JW Marriott Bangkok.

Next, we will travel to Siem Reap to visit Angkor Wat again and stay once more at the Park Hyatt Siem Reap, which impressed us two years ago.

Back in Thailand, we will relax on the beach at beautiful Surin Phuket and JW Marriott Phuket, before heading to our all-time favorite Pimalai Resort & Spa.

On our way home, we will stop in Bangkok for one last night to stay at The Standard Bangkok located inside the famous Mahanakhon Tower. After all, the tallest building in all of Thailand!

Conclusion

The Park Hyatt Bangkok is undoubtedly one of the city’s most spectacular hotels – modern and luxurious, with a unique architectural presence located above the Central Embassy Mall. Particularly impressive are the spacious rooms offering magnificent skyline views, the impressive public areas such as the 9th-floor tropical pool, and the Penthouse Bar & Grill, which boasts one of the best panoramic rooftop views in Bangkok.

The breakfast service and spa are the only areas where the hotel falls short of its otherwise extremely high standard. However, the location, design and professionalism of the staff, as well as the advantages of the Preferred Partner Rate, more than make up for this.

Anyone looking for an urban luxury experience in the heart of Bangkok, offering both a retreat and a vantage point from which to enjoy the city, will definitely be happy here.

We would recommend this hotel to guests of all types. Couples, solo travellers and business travellers in particular will feel right at home here. Although there were quite a few families staying at the hotel during our visit, I feel that the luxurious surroundings of a hotel like this are better suited to tranquillity and elegance than to romping children. Nevertheless, families can of course also enjoy a wonderful holiday here.

Using our internal EVRYWHRE scale, we place Park Hyatt Bangkok firmly in the Luxury category and would definitely recommend it!

Evrywhre Kategorien

Rating

We are pleased to award the Park Hyatt Bangkok a well-deserved 9 out of 10 possible points.

Unfortunately, we had to deduct one point for breakfast, which was completely out of character for the hotel. It may be different during the week, but during our stay from Friday to Saturday, it was anything but a relaxed start to the day.
